Used for early warning of infestation and to inform IPM strategies.

Sweet potato weevil (Cylas formaricus) pheromone lures are used to attract the  weevil to the trap. Regular monitoring via the traps gives an early warning of an infestation. The traps also exhibits the density of the insect population to inform successful IPM strategies.

If an infestation is left untreated then there is a risk of significant crop loss.
